Helping Families Find Solutions For Life's Challenges

I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Virginia.  In 2001, I graduated with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Marymount University and have been working in the mental health field since 1996.  As a Registered Play Therapist, I have extensive training in play therapy, art therapy and sandtray techniques and find these alternative treatment methods to be invaluable during the therapeutic process.  I provide services to children, adolescents, and their families and I believe that parent guidance is an important part of the therapeutic process.

My counseling experience began when I worked in residential treatment facilities for at risk teens as a recreational therapist.  I started my private practice after working in various treatment settings.  I have experience with inpatient and outpatient treatment, as well as in therapuetic day school settings.  Having the opportunity to work in different settings has provided me with wonderful knowledge and hands on experiences that have allowed me to grow as a clinician.
